May 2026 Drop Calendar: From the Met to Memorial Day
May 2026 Drop Calendar: From the Met to Memorial Day
May has bookends and a spine.
The bookends are obvious. The Met Gala on May 4 (Beyoncé returning as co-chair after a decade away, the new ~12,000 sq ft Condé Nast Galleries opening the same week). Memorial Day weekend on May 25 (Indy 500, NBA Conference Finals, BottleRock with Foo Fighters and Lorde headlining, the entire mattress industry pretending it has feelings).
The spine is one Friday.
May 22. Travis Scott's Pink Pack drops two SKUs of the Air Jordan 1 Low at $155. Pokémon Mega Evolution: Chaos Rising hits shelves. The Mandalorian and Grogu opens in theaters. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight ships on consoles. The F1 Canadian Grand Prix takes its newly relocated late-May slot. The Eurovision Song Contest: Vienna 2026 compilation lands on vinyl. Four Nike x World Cup Air Max 90 mash-ups went up the day before. A Nike Zoom Hyperflight "DMV" releases at $170.
That's not a drop calendar. That's a structural argument about why one Friday in late May is among the busiest commerce days of H1 2026.
Here's everything else.
The Headlines
Two SKUs, both at $155 retail. IQ7604-100 is the Muslin / Shy Pink "Shy Pink" colorway. IQ7604-101 is the Sail / Tropical Pink "Tropical Pink" colorway. Distribution is the usual Travis matrix: Nike SNKRS, shop.travisscott.com, and a Tier-0 boutique wave that includes Solebox Berlin, BSTN, END., and Extra Butter.
The precedent matters. Per Fanfare's queue telemetry, the Fragment Military Blue drop (Nov 2025) pulled roughly 4.4 million raffle entries on shop.travisscott.com alone. That's the floor, not the ceiling, for a two-SKU Travis drop with a Pink Pack hook.
Set an alarm. Set a backup alarm. Enter every boutique raffle that exists.
The fourth English Mega Evolution expansion. Headliners: Mega Greninja ex, Mega Pyroar ex, Mega Floette ex, Mega Dragalge ex. Prereleases run May 9–17 at local game stores.
The economics are already broken. ETB MSRP is $59.99. Walmart pre-launch listings have been observed around $114.94. Individual eBay listings have hit $399. Supply constraints from the previous wave have not loosened. If anything, they've tightened.
If you live near a Walmart or Target on May 22, be there before the truck unloads. If you don't, lower your expectations accordingly.
US and Canada launch. Drinkware plus a lifestyle capsule. The Asia precedent (Oct 2025) traded at 2x to 5x retail within 48 hours. The closest domestic comparable, the Bearista cup (Nov 2025), drove a 37.8% same-day visit spike versus the prior 12-month daily average (Placer.ai, via TheStreet).
Companion drop the week prior: the Road Trip Collection: "Let's Take a Trip" on May 12, which lands alongside the 2026 Summer Menu. Mugs, tumblers, another canvas mini tote (the canvas tote secondary market is now its own recurring quarterly story), and a foldable picnic blanket. The mini tote is the resale wildcard.
Miffy is the rare drop where the in-store experience is the queue and the queue is the product. Stores will run out before 7 AM local in the major metros.
Co-chairs: Beyoncé (her first Met return in over a decade), plus the announced fashion principals. The new Condé Nast Galleries open the same week, roughly 12,000 sq ft of permanent exhibition space attached to the Costume Institute. That alone reframes the night from "biggest red carpet of the year" to a permanent inflection point in fashion-museum economics.
The commerce gravity is the two-week pipeline that follows: a celebrity wears a thing on May 4, the brand activates a product story by May 18, the retail capsule lands by Mother's Day weekend in time for the Memorial Day inventory cycle. Every brand on the steps is also planning a drop calendar.
Park Chan-wook is jury president. La Vénus Électrique by Pierre Salvadori opens. The fashion-to-product pipeline runs the same playbook as the Met, with longer lead times. Watch L'Oréal, Chopard, and Gucci activations.
Sneaker traditions, mattress jokes, BBQ commerce, and the start of NBA Finals positioning. The Indianapolis 500 runs the 110th edition on May 24, presented by Gainbridge, Palou defending. BottleRock Napa runs May 22–24 with Foo Fighters, Backstreet Boys, and Lorde. F1 Canadian GP takes May 22–24 (Monaco moved to June 5–7). NBA Conference Finals tip off May 19 (East) and May 20 (West).
Note for the live-event crowd: Boston Calling is on hiatus (returning 2027). Hangout / Sand in My Boots is cancelled. BottleRock is the music draw.
Week-by-Week
Week 1: May 1–3
The opener. Derby and Miami.
| Date | Event | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| May 1 | The Black Keys, Peaches! LP | New album, low chaos. |
| May 2 | Kentucky Derby, 152nd running | Hat market peaks the week prior. |
| May 3 | F1 Miami Grand Prix | Hard Rock Stadium, Miami merch program runs through race weekend. |
A short week. Two sports anchors and one music release. Treat it as the warm-up.
Week 2: May 4–10
The Met, the Mother's Day economy, and a sleeper Jordan.
| Date | Event | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| May 4 | Met Gala 2026 | Beyoncé co-chair return. Condé Nast Galleries opening week. Cultural anchor of the month. |
| May 4 | Star Wars Day LEGO drops | Annual Lucasfilm capsule, in-store and at LEGO.com. |

| May 10 | Mother's Day | NRF projects record $38B U.S. spending. Jewelry alone hits $7.5B. |
The Sylvester AJ4 is the underrated sneaker drop of the month. The first colorway is up multiples on resale, the second one will not be available retail by 10:01 AM ET. Mother's Day is the highest-floor commerce moment of May before the May 22 ceiling.
Week 3: May 11–17
Eurovision opens, Cannes opens, Drake drops.
| Date | Event | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| May 12–16 | Eurovision Vienna 2026 | SF1 May 12, SF2 May 14, Final May 16. Hosts Victoria Swarovski, Michael Ostrowski, Emily Busvine. €36M budget. EuroClub at Prater Dome, free Village at Rathausplatz. |
| May 12 | Starbucks Road Trip Collection | Mini canvas tote is the secondary-market piece. |

| May 16 | Air Jordan 3 "Brazil" | $225. World Cup-adjacent colorway. |
| May 16 | adidas Harden Vol. 10 "Hi-Res Yellow" | $160. |
The AJ3 "Brazil" is the World Cup runway play. Its sibling, "World's Best Dad," has a date in flux: leakers are split between May 16 and May 30, with SBD and Sneaker News leaning May 30. Treat it as the Father's Day drop landing in that window.
Week 4: May 18–24
The surge. The single busiest week of H1 2026.
| Date | Event | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| May 19 | Starbucks × Miffy (US/CA) | Chaos rating: high. Stores will sell out before 8 AM local. |
| May 19 | NBA Eastern Conference Finals tip-off | Game 1. |
| May 20 | NBA Western Conference Finals tip-off | Game 1. |
| May 21 | Switch 2 Yoshi exclusive | Nintendo first-party, modest demand. |

| May 22 | Travis Scott × AJ1 Low "Pink Pack" (2 SKUs) | $155 each. Chaos rating: maximum. |
| May 22 | Pokémon Mega Evolution: Chaos Rising | ETB MSRP $59.99 (observed Walmart pre-launch listings ~$114.94). Chaos rating: maximum. |
| May 22 | Mandalorian and Grogu in theaters | Plus a helmet-shaped 10" vinyl release. |
| May 22 | LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight | Multi-platform game launch. |
| May 22 | Eurovision Song Contest: Vienna 2026 compilation | Vinyl release. |
| May 22 | Nike Zoom Hyperflight "DMV" | $170. |
| May 22–24 | F1 Canadian Grand Prix | Monaco moved to June 5–7 for 2026; Canada took the late-May slot. |
| May 23 | Air Jordan 1 High OG "Shop Jacket" W | $185. |
| May 23 | Air Jordan 12 "Bloodline" | $215. |
| May 24 | Indianapolis 500, 110th running | Presented by Gainbridge. Alex Palou defending. |
This is the week. If you operate any commerce site that sells anything sneaker-, anime-, or Star Wars-adjacent, your May 22 traffic plan was due in March.
Week 5: May 25–31
Memorial Day, then a quietly enormous music week.
| Date | Event | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| May 25 | Memorial Day | Sneaker sales, mattress sales, BBQ. |
| May 22–24 | BottleRock Napa | Foo Fighters, Backstreet Boys, Lorde. |
| May 29 | Nike Air Foamposite Pro "Gym Red" | $240. First Foamposite return since 2015. |
| May 29 | Paul McCartney, The Boys of Dungeon Lane | 27th studio LP. Andrew Watt produced. |
| May 29 | Smashing Pumpkins, Gish anniversary reissue | LP repress with bonus material. |
| May 29 | Bruce Springsteen, Live From Asbury Park 2024 | 3CD set. |
| May 29 | Boards of Canada, Inferno LP | First new LP since 2013. |
| May 30 | Air Jordan 4 "Toro Bravo" | $220. |
| May 30 (likely) | AJ3 OG "World's Best Dad" | $215. Date in flux; SBD and Sneaker News lean May 30, others have May 16. |
May 29 alone is one of the deepest catalog-music release days of the year. Three legacy acts plus a Boards of Canada return nobody saw coming. The AJ4 "Toro Bravo" closes the month with a colorway not retail-available in over a decade.
Category Deep Dives
Sneakers
The Jordan calendar is unusually back-loaded. Outside the Pink Pack, the must-cops cluster in the back half:
- Nigel Sylvester × AJ4 "Brick After Brick" ($230, May 9). The hidden headliner.
- AJ3 "Brazil" ($225, May 16). World Cup runway.
- AJ3 "World's Best Dad" ($215, May 16 or May 30; May 30 leading). Father's Day play.
- Nike × World Cup Air Max 90 4-pack ($150 each, May 21). Four nation-themed makeups, designed for the World Cup mass market.
- AJ1 High OG "Shop Jacket" W ($185, May 23).
- AJ12 "Bloodline" ($215, May 23).
- Nike Zoom Hyperflight "DMV" ($170, May 22).
- Nike Air Foamposite Pro "Gym Red" ($240, May 29). First Foamposite return since 2015.
- AJ4 "Toro Bravo" ($220, May 30).
A note on dates and SKUs: most of these originate from leaker accounts (Sneaker Bar Detroit, @py_rates, @zSneakerheadz). Highly reliable, but Nike has not officially loaded all of them on SNKRS. Prices may shift $10–$20 from what's listed. Watch SBD the week prior.
Pokémon and TCG
Chaos Rising on May 22 is the entire story. Beyond the headline expansion:
- Prereleases at local game stores May 9–17. Some stores cap entry, most do raffles. Build a relationship with a single LGS, not a list of five.
- Walmart and Target restocks on Chaos Rising will not match demand. MSRP / observed pre-launch retail / observed resale runs roughly $59.99 / ~$114.94 / up to $399 (listings sampled late April). Not a typo.
- Panini's NFL license expired March 31. Topps ramps now. Watch for Topps NFL announcements late May, with the first Topps-licensed NFL product likely teasing for July.
- MLB cards remain in their playoff-window cycle. Panini Stars & Stripes Baseball blasters and hobby boxes stay in retail rotation.
Music
The headlines are split across two weeks. May 15 is the front-half anchor: Drake's ICEMAN, the Mandalorian and Grogu OST, the Vienna 2026 compilation rolling into the Eurovision week. May 29 is the back-half catalog wave: Paul McCartney's 27th LP (Andrew Watt produced, this matters; Watt makes legacy artists sound contemporary), Springsteen live triple-CD, Smashing Pumpkins Gish reissue, Boards of Canada Inferno (first new LP since 2013).
Eurovision Vienna 2026 has a €36M production budget, the EuroClub at Prater Dome, and a free festival village at Rathausplatz. The Eurovision merch and vinyl economy is small in the US, large in Europe, and impossible to predict outside it.
Tour-wise, the BTS ARIRANG run continues through May (the tour kicked off in April). Concert pre-sales and on-sales for Memorial Day weekend tend to cluster in the Tuesday–Wednesday window.
Streetwear
Supreme runs weekly Thursday drops through SS26 (May 7, 14, 21, 28). The likely marquee collab lands in the May 14 or May 21 slot, which means it may or may not collide directly with the Pink Pack. The collision risk is real and Supreme has historically not cared.
Palace continues weekly Friday drops. Aimé Leon Dore's SS26 capsule continues to roll out in waves. Fear of God Essentials drops the spring delivery. KITH Monday Program continues, with a Salomon collab still teased for late spring.
Viral Grocery
This category is a Fanfare hobby and an increasingly serious commerce vector. May highlights:
- Starbucks × Miffy (May 19). Already covered. Buy what you can carry.
- Starbucks Road Trip Collection (May 12). The mini canvas tote is the resale piece.
- 2026 Summer Menu launch (May 12). Drives in-store visits independent of merch.
- Trader Joe's continues its seasonal cadence post-March pastel restock. Mini totes remain unpredictable.
- Costco and Aldi run Memorial Day weekend resets. Aldi's Specialbuy / Aldi Finds windows the week of May 18 are the ones to watch.
The pattern that started in March (canvas bags trading at four-figure multiples) is now a recurring quarterly event. The only question is which retailer triggers it next.
Sports
NBA: ECF tips off May 19, WCF on May 20. NBA Finals Game 1 is June 3 (8:30 PM ET, ABC). Conference Finals merch demand is sharper than the Finals itself for the eliminated team's market.
F1: Miami GP May 3. Canadian GP May 22–24 (Monaco moved to June 5–7 for 2026, a structural calendar shift worth noting if you do F1 merch).
IndyCar: Indianapolis 500 on May 24, the 110th running. Gainbridge presenting. Palou is defending champion. The 300,000+ on-site crowd is the largest single-day sports gate in the world.
NHL playoffs continue through May. MLB regular season runs interleague matchups across the month.
Why May 22 Breaks Infrastructure
Travis Scott Pink Pack (two SKUs). Pokémon Mega Evolution: Chaos Rising. The Mandalorian and Grogu in theaters. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on consoles. The Eurovision Vienna 2026 compilation on vinyl. F1 Canadian GP. Nike Zoom Hyperflight "DMV." All within the same 12 hours.
A single Friday with two Travis Scott SKUs, a major Pokémon expansion, a Star Wars theatrical, a AAA console game launch, an F1 race weekend opener, a Eurovision compilation drop, four Nike x World Cup Air Max 90 SKUs the day before, and a Nike Zoom Hyperflight at $170. Plus Tier-0 boutique raffles, a Mandalorian helmet-shaped vinyl, whatever Supreme decides to drop, and the secondary market on every one of these within minutes.
The audiences overlap. The Travis collector is also the Pokémon collector is also the Star Wars collector is also the LEGO Batman buyer. That overlap is the structural problem. It does not split traffic across separate sites; it concentrates the same 3 to 5 million-person audience across simultaneous purchase windows.
For brands running drops on May 22: assume you are competing for both attention and infrastructure. The queue is the product on a day like this; treat it like one.
For brands running drops on May 23: you are the day-after audience. The Travis buyer who lost is now your most motivated customer.
For brands running drops on May 21: you have a 24-hour head start. Use it.
How to Prepare
If you're operating a drop
Stress-test your queue infrastructure now, not on May 21. May 22 traffic will look like a sustained 4 to 6 hour spike across multiple categories. Bot pressure scales with hype. Travis-adjacent infra has historically taken 30 to 90 seconds to recover from a single bot wave; you will see multiple.
Three operational baselines for May 22:
- Verified queue, not first-come-first-served. FCFS at this density is a denial-of-service event with extra steps.
- Cap per customer hard. Two units is the upper bound for anything that will resell at multiples.
- Pre-warm your CDN. Card declines and edge-case errors compound when origin servers are saturated.
If you're running a drop the same week as Pink Pack and Chaos Rising, your CS queue will look like the chaos itself. Staff accordingly. Pre-write your status page updates.
If you're trying to cop
For Travis Pink Pack (May 22): enter every Tier-0 boutique raffle (Solebox, BSTN, END., Extra Butter; Sole Retriever publishes the working list 7–10 days out). Set SNKRS notifications. Accept that the L2 is real.
For Chaos Rising (May 22): be physically present at retail. Walmart trucks unload overnight; the relationship with the receiving manager is your most valuable asset. Online Pokémon Center inventory sells out in seconds and is rate-limited.
For Starbucks Miffy (May 19): be at the store at open. Allocations vary by store. The Road Trip mini tote (May 12) is the secondary-market piece; Miffy itself is for the experience.
For Memorial Day weekend tickets: pre-sales Tuesday May 19, general on-sales Wednesday May 20. Save your codes in a password manager, not a notes app. The lessons from the 2025 Ticketmaster Harry Styles refund saga still apply. Use the verified fan flows.
For the Nigel Sylvester AJ4 (May 9): the underrated drop of the month. The first colorway moved at multiples within hours. The second will not be retail-available by 10:01 AM ET.
Fair Drops for May's Density
May 2026 is the densest commerce month in H1, and May 22 is the densest day in May. Travis Scott, Pokémon, Star Wars, LEGO Batman, Nike, Eurovision, F1, and the Indy 500 are not competing for separate audiences. They are competing for the same checkout, the same inventory promise, and the same fan trust.
The brands that win May won't be the ones with the largest budgets or the loudest launches. They'll be the ones whose queues stay honest, whose carts hold inventory, and whose post-drop status pages tell the truth.
That's what Fanfare builds: drops that stay fair under load, infrastructure that holds, and queue mechanics that earn trust instead of burning it.
If May has you rethinking your drop strategy, we should talk.
